Nothing Will Make me Any Happier Than I Am Right Now – And So Can YOU!
As I was thinking about what to write this week, I got to thinking what will make me happy? What will make me grounded in the moment. Some time ago, I was watching one of Next Level Soul’s Podcast where Alex Ferrari was interviewing Sara Landon. In this podcast, Sara would keep saying, “nothing will make me any happier than I am right now.” So, how can we be happy in this very moment? The answer might shock you (or make you say what). Let’s discuss that.
Reasoning Behind Fear
Whenever I feel frustration, anxiety, stress, or any form of fear — my thought usually is how can I be happy? The subconscious part of me might be feeling uneasiness, manifesting itself through physical symptoms or emotional reaction. But, why do we feel anxious about this present moment where we feel this fear? I’m not going to lie, I get these feelings too and I’m working on ways I can let the fear wash away. We feel these anxieties because we have a reaction to possible future events that may or may not happen.

Things are going to unfold with or without you. Are you really going to be chase by a tiger? Most likely not. Will you not get what you want if things don’t go your way? Remember, the future is just potential possibilities. Also, your past can influence your current fears — however, the past is gone and that should stay in the past.
You are thinking that way because you have past expectations and reasoning, so your future ought to be the same. No, it doesn’t, why would we think that? Everything is a choice: you can live in fear or choose to live in happiness.
We can believe that:
- I am being happy
- I am happy no matter what happens
- Nothing will make my any happier than I am right now
I have news for you, we don’t have to feel all these fears, instead be very present and fearless. As my Friend, John Davis likes to say, EXHALE! When you get anxious, first exhale and take a true deep breath and feel it as you ground yourself in the present moment. When you exhale, you get to feel the powerfulness of love — it’s so divine that you get the feeling you are in heaven or feeling the presence of god.
“Nothing is either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”
– William Shakespeare
Be Happy No Matter What
When you are truly present, you feel happy because you have let go of all your fears and anxieties. Now, circling back to my own question: how can I be happy? Being happy is about letting go of past and future expectations. There is one quick way to get you happy and that’s to laugh. When you laugh, you are attentive to the laughter you feel; whether that is watching a movie or something just made you laugh. Laughing equals happiness which equals being in the moment.

Love Yourself
Go do the things you love — that will bring so much joy into your life helping you be in the here and now. When we all do the things we enjoy, we become very aware of the moment — we are not thinking about the future or any fears that comes with that. We are present in the moment. How many times did I repeat that hahaha? But it’s so true, I think saying that over and over about being present is the key to being happy.
When You Get Fear
Remember all the things I said so far. Here are other things things to do when you are not feeling that happiness and you deserve that happiness.
- Exhale
- Breathwork (counting as you do: 1, 2, 3…)
- Meditate
- Take a walk
- Take a drive
- Go sit outside for a few moments
- Laugh
- Write
- Do the things you love
- Go to your favorite restaurant
- Watch a movie
- Anything that will help you be grounded
This will make you laugh:
Wrapping Up
We all deserve happiness in our lives. One of the simplest ways to be happy is just to tell yourself I am being happy. Be happy no matter what happens, there’s nothing to fear in this very moment. Nothing at all. Nothing in this moment will stop me from receiving my happiness. You are loved, you are beautiful, and you are powerfully divine.
